NRW 2023 - New artwork in Melbourne office

In National Reconciliation Week 2023, Tonkin + Taylor Australia was delighted to unveil a new mural in our head office in Melbourne / Naarm.

In “Caring for Country”, Alex Kerr, a proud Wurundjeri man, pays tribute to the landscape of his country, incorporating key elements such as meeting places, rivers, waterways, and animals.

The artwork features a goanna, an animal that holds great cultural significance for the Wurundjeri people, as well as the footprints of the emu and kangaroo. The use of the “U” symbol around the waterways and meeting places highlights the deep connection between the Wurundjeri people and the land.

At T+T, we appreciate the importance of the natural world and our connection to it. We recognise that our work has an impact on the environment and communities in which we operate, and we strive to work collaboratively with our clients to ensure a sustainable future.

We are proud to have commissioned this piece to welcome our clients, staff, and visitors. It serves as a visual reminder of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation and to strengthening connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
